Sharp UX-B750 Inkjet Fax Review

I've used this machine basically for faxing items out.I didn't need anything too fancy or too complicated. This unit actually has more involved functions that I don't need but I purchased it cause the price was right. So far so good, setup was simple, it is extremely lightweight (I kind of worried about this as my past fax was at least 3times heavier).Uses standard copier paper (thank goodness), fax is very quiet and scans pages quickly. It also has a hand-set if you need to make a regular phone call from it.I haven't received incoming faxes on it yet but if a problem arises, I will be sure to post additional feedback.

AT&T TL76008 5.8GHz 2-Line Digital Cordless Expansion Handset (Titanium and Metallic Charcoal) Review

AT&T TL76008 5.8GHz 2-Line Digital Cordless Expansion Handset
Average Reviews:

Phones sound great; easy to set up and all went as directions indicated; probably great for home use.

Some irritating features (no directory fast dial buttons).

Small business problems: (1) TERRIBLE: an extension can pick up on an ongoing call - our antique Panasonic system didn't allow this but this system does and is an irritating issue I specifically did NOT want and couldn't imagine was not included in this system (2) too many functions require using the menu instead of convenient buttons (3) no mute button except on base station (4) memorized phone numbers are hard to use - have to use directory - no hot buttons - (but are easy to enter) (5) TERRIBLE: no DND or ability to send ringing call directly to voicemail immediately.

System looks great; voice quality is good even on conference and speaker, range seems fine. Would recommend for homes but not for small business.

Panasonic KXTGA400B 2.4GHz Accessory Handset for KXTG4000B Expandable Phone (Black) Review

Average Reviews:

I bought this for my home office - we have 2 home lines, a fax/dsl and a business line. This phone pretty much does it all - you can answer each line with a different outgoing message, set up mail boxes for different people, and even have different lines ring on different handsets, or not ring at all (i.e. the fax). The range is very good (I can usually get it to go about 400 feet outdoors in a suburban neighborhood). The handsets are pretty much the same size as the Panasonic 2.4mHz standard.Battery life seems fine.
My biggest peeve is that you can't use 2 handsets on the same line at the same time (I guess that is what the extension is for) and that one of the four handsets we got refuses to work properly - something with the battery, but Panasonic has been pretty helpful.

Product Description:
The KX-TGA400B handset works with the KX-TG4000B four-line cordlesstelephone system, giving your small business or home theproductivity-enhancing features of a business telephone system withoutthe high price tag. It communicateswith the KX-TG4000B base unit in both directions using 2.4 GHzfrequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) transmission. FHSS technologyimproves calling range and clarity, and eliminates crosstalk. Becauseit rapidly changes transmission frequencies within the 2.4 GHzbandwidth, this cordless system helps reduce the possibility ofeavesdropping.
The KX-TG4000B phone system operates via cordlesstransmissions, so no expensive (and messy) wiring or installation isrequired. Simply hook up the base to your phone lines and plug it intoan AC outlet. Then, set up the included KX-TGA400B handset in thedesired location and plug in the recharging stand. You can add up toeight KX-TGA400B handsets to the system.
Dual caller ID with callwaiting lets you view the name and number of all incoming callers oneither the base unit or handset LCD--even if you're already on theline. This caller ID feature also stores up to 50 names on the baseunit (up to 30 names on each handset), with direct callbackcapability. And thanks to caller ID pager call, you can even programthe phone to notify your pager when you've received an incoming call, and to forward caller ID data to your pager's display. (Subscriptionto caller ID services is required.)
Other handset features includetwo-way intercom/paging with the base unit and other handsets, alighted handset keypad, headset jack, and a belt clip. The handsetoffers up to eight hours of talk time and up to 96 hours of standbybattery life.

Panasonic KX-TG2480S 2.4 GHz 2.4GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Telephone Review

Panasonic KX-TG2480S 2.4 GHz 2.4GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Telephone
Average Reviews:

With most of the available two-line phones now being sold as console units that will support many cordless handsets and built in message features, I wanted a plain old, stand alone, two line phone.Like the old record turntables, most of the big manufacturers still offer one or two choices but the pickings are slim.I decided to chose Panasonic based on a mostly positive experience with their products over the years, but it is not a great phone.Good phone, yes.It can be staticy and not so clear from time to time but I always get a signal. The operation sequence for managing the incoming calls has you push one button and the phone will answer what ever line is comming in.This system does not perform well with "call waiting".I still don't have it down yet.Fortunatly most people call back if I cut them off.

In closing,I had a V-Tech before this that worked great but died after about 14 months. They still make one but the Panasonic seemed a safer choice.

Panasonic KX-TG2258S 2.4 GHz Digital Cordless Phone with Talking Caller ID and Answering System Review

Panasonic KX-TG2258S 2.4 GHz Digital Cordless Phone with Talking Caller ID and Answering System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Since I have only purchased Panasonic brand cordless phones for over 10 years, my review is really based on my expereinces with older Panasonic models rather than competitors of Panasonic.
I purchased an earlier Panasonic model (KXTG-2680N) of this phone two years ago, and for the most part I really liked is clarity and multitde of features (it was at the time one of the top line phones). However, like other Panasonic cordless phones I've had in the past, the number buttons on the handset started to stick and then stopped working at all.
I bought this particular model as a replacement for the older KX-TG2680N because I'd becomea fan of the talking caller ID function. While I initally thought it was a silly function, I later found it very helpful. If I couldn't find the handset quickly enough to read the caller ID, it was nice to have a voice that told me who was calling. The KX-TG2680N talking caller ID was unintentionally funny; its pronunciation and accenting of names was often terrible, and it took time a couple of moments to figure out what it was saying. The newer KXTG-2258, however, has improved the pronunciation of names and there are far fewer times when I have to pause to think about what it is saying.
One downside of the KXTG-2680N was that the phone's battery life was short; I never bought a replacement battery, so my conversations had to be 45 minutes at the longest. So far the KXTG-2258 appears to have a longer battery life (but it has only been three weeks).
Other improvements of the KX-TG 2258 are that the buttons on the handset and speaker are bigger, and their placement is more intuative and therefore less confusing. The handset is much bigger and more comfortable to use (the older model tried to copy a cell phone) .There is also the slow talk option on the answering machine (which I don't use much) that helps when you're trying to take down a number or directions. I loved the handset speakerphone, and it is still featured on this phone. The clarity of the phone is excellent, so the voice enhancer is really not important to me.
The KXTG-2680N was full of features, but it was not an easy phone to navigate; I read the maual throughly and refered to it often. You still should on this phone, and while it still isn't the most user-friendly phone, much is less confusing than its predecessor.
However, there are things that could be improved upon and helpful features that Panasonic dropped on this lower-end model of the phone:
--The KX-TG 2258 still does not have a one-touch programmable speed dial; phone numbers are entered in the handset's phone book.Annoyingly, the phonebook can only be accessed through the handset, rather than the speakerphone and handset.
--If you are listening to the answering machine, you can't dial the handset. The machine stops playing when you press the talk button.
--When dialing from the phonebook, you cannot switch to the handset speakerphone until the number is complelydialed. Also, you can't acess the phonebook if the handset speakerphone is on.
--The answering machine may allow you to slow down a message, but it does not allow you to speed through one.You have to listen to the message from the beginning rather than forwarding to the important part of the message.
--The phone comes with several different rings tones for incoming cals. However, it would have been more useful if you could assign a group of incoming numbersa certain ring tone so you could tell who is calling. In other words, to program a caller group. The older model had this feature, and additionally the handset screen lit up a different color so that you could hear and see that it was someone from a particular group that was calling.I always thought it was overkill along with the talking ID, but I find myself missing that feature the most. When the TV is on or I cannot hear the talking ID, I could simply look at the handset from a distance and know if close family and friends were calling.I can't do that anymore with this phone.
Other than these things, the phone--so far--is good and the answering machine is okay.I just hope that the number keys on the handset don't begin to stick again!

Product Description:
Offering a range of exciting features including 2.4 GHz digital transmission, the Panasonic KX-TG2258 connects you to the outside world with a consistently clear channel and plenty of room to roam. Special Voice Enhancer technology simulates additional bandwidth, allowing human voices to sound much more like they do in person than what we generally hear over the phone.
A three-line backlit LCD on both the handset and the base supply access to caller ID information (with subscription to the service via your telephone company). The names and numbers of up to 30 callers will be displayed, along with the date and time of the call. Additionally, this model is equipped with Talking Caller ID, which verbally announces who's on the line before you've even left the couch. And don't worry about missing your mew messages--both a visual announce light and an audible "stutter" will let you know when your voicemail has new information.
The built-in fully digital answering system provides up to 17 minutes of messaging, or eight minutes on the best quality setting. Memo recording, remote operation, and pre-recorded outgoing messages are all included. Panasonic provides a one-year warranty covering parts and service.

AT&T 1726 Digital Answering System with 3 Mailboxes Review

AT&T 1726 Digital Answering System with 3 Mailboxes
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This machine is yet another illustration of how quickly technology innovation moves forward (the cynical person would wonder if the vendors were intentionally keeping these machines less capable to sell their ever-green answering services).
This machine is very small and packed with features. The one review here at Amazon.com said that you couldn't see the caller's ID. This is true but the ATT1726 will speak the number for you before you have to answer the phone. Way cool.
Other outstanding features: 1. A priority code lets your important callers signal that they're on the line via a special ring; 2. Set your toll saver not only to 2/4 but also to 4/6 or up to 7 rings; 3. With caller ID, the machine will store the incoming number with the message and even (get this, telemarketing haters!) have an automatic message for blocked ID calls saying they can not be accepted and then just hang up; 4. Have callers select a mailbox for their message using a key press--good for roommates; 5. great remote access controls, multiple outgoing messages, announcement only, memory protection for power failures, listen to messages at fast or slow speeds, customizable options like call screening (on/off) and message alerts (beep sound/nothing)...I could go on but you get the point. I had ATT's last machine (the 1725) for years and this is a stellar upgrade. The only drawback I can think of is that the engineers overloaded the buttons with different functions (prob. to save space) making the interface a bit dodgy--setup can be tricky. Great instructions, though.
This thing is awesome. And J&R sell it for [money]!! The price at Amazon.com [money] can't be beat. Although I just got the machine and don't know yet about service issues and the like, my recommendation is to get rid of those silly answering services and save some bucks.

I use the Plantronics Voyager 500A, which is great. The handset lifter is an obvious fit so you don't have to lift the receiver from the cradle each time. However, if you are using the RCA Executive Series - 4 line phone, or for that matter any phone hand set that does not have a high arch, the "Lifter" can not fit under the handset. The handset will not sit in the cradle or slides off the cradle. The added extender arm that comes with the Lifter does not cure the problem.I had to send the unit back for a refund.Great idea though, but know that is will not well or at all on such phones.

Siemens 8800 Gigaset 2.4 GHz Accessory Handset for 8825 Cordless Phone Review

Siemens 8800 Gigaset 2.4 GHz Accessory Handset for 8825 Cordless Phone
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I originally bought the 8800 series because I do lots of conference calls and needed a digital duplex speakerphone. This phone offers so much more however. One feature that we didn't know existed but have used constantly since we purchased is the voice announce for caller ID. I can be in the kitchen and the phone rings and then my voice comes on and annouces "The Smiths" from the base station. We answer that one. Or "Caller ID Unknown". Probably a salesman, no need to get up from dinner for that one. It has caller ID based mailbox routing, call barring (to prevent the phone from ringing at all if someone calls who has deliberately blocked their caller ID from being seen), individual phone intercom, 'all house' intercom, and the room monitor with call forwarding works great as well. There are too many features here to learn in one sitting. We have had two problems. Every once in a while the cordless handset has a clicking in the background which I believe to be related with some other 2.4 GHZ appliance interference. If you could manually overide the channel selection, I think that would not occur. It is a rare occurance but I think preventable with the right options. The other problem has been just finding two more cordless phones. These are hard to find. I would highly recommend this phone.

This is my 2nd vtech phone. I purchased because I needed 6 total extensions and I liked how they looked on the internet. I also thought the bluetooth feature would be nice.

No one in my family likes these phones (wife, son, daughter).

For example, the base station has very tiny red symbols on black that are very difficult to see. None of the buttons light up, so, even in a bright kitchen, you never know what buttons to push to forward, delete, skip, etc. without getting inches from the unit.

The handsets are also always dark, and only light-up when you pick them up. If you need to enter numbers, #, etc. when ordering something, you cannot see the numbers. You have to wait for the phone to light-up again.

We've lost many calls when picking up. For some reason, the phone disconnects when you touch "Home/Flash." There is no "Talk" button, and, we always have to rethink what to do with this phone since it is not like any other phone (work, cell, etc.).

The sharp square corners can actually dig into your ear when talking on the phone for a while too.

Overall, the phones look and sound great. They are just not easy to use, and my family is not happy I bought them. They want the old vtech phones back.

Plantronics A100 Practica Headset for Single or Multi Line Telephones Review

While I think this system might work for some people, it did not for me. When I adjusted the switch for microphone volume, my callers could hear me fine, but my local AM radio station was bleeding through loud and clear. Idemonstrated it to the Amazon return technician on the phone and he wasflabbergasted and agreed right away to give me a full refund, includingpre-paid shipping.
I will certainly consider buying a more expensivemodel and I will definitely buy it from Amazon. They are great to workwith.

I purchased this Panasonic product to replace a Sony corded/cordless combination phone when the cordless went south.I had some trepidation about the Panasonic product because I have heard of the high return rate at the local electronic stores.I have used this phone and 4 additional expansion phones for about a month and I must say this is the best sound quality I have heard from a 2.4 GHz system. In fact, the best sound quality from any cordless I've used!I really like the speaker phone on the cordless: great for when calling those automated systems and get put on hold forever! The messages can be checked from the cordless units, and with the caller ID function, you can review who called and send the number to be stored in the directory (memory)!Lots of features to justify the price. The only recomendation I have for Panasonic is to include the capability to delete messages from the handsets.I also recommend the cordless expansion unit with the built in alarm clock.Works great and looks good too.One small unit takes the place of two in the bedroom.Overall, a really great system and I have not experienced any problems in the first month of using them. The phones can be found cheaper at E-tronics however.

Panasonic KX-TG2632B 2.4 GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Answering System with Dual Handsets Review

i threw my old panasonic phone against the wall and it didn't work very well after that. so, i had a good excuse to replace it with a new phone with the features i wanted--1)a set of cordless phones, one base, and an additional charger i could keep in the other side of the house, 2)digital answering machine because i screen my calls, 3)caller i.d. and stored numbers. all of these for a great price. it was about $50 in comparison to most comparable phones for $130.

i really wanted to have one phone that had two cordless handsets and only required one jack in the house, that could be on both sides of the house in case of emergency, or to reach at night before the answering machine picked up, without running across the house to the charger.

what i did not expect: good sound quality, phone and base 1/2 the size of my old phone. the blinking antenna is very cool. and if you have not bought a new phone in the past few years...these operate very much like cell phones. you can program numbers and call directly from your menu, you dial the number and see it displayed before you press "talk" so no more redialing when you make a mistake. you can check messages from the handset. it has a lot of features without being too complicated. the only drawback: it is staticy when it's next to the clock radio, that's why i gave it four stars. also, it is small, if you have big hands or poor eyesite, this could be inconvenient.

I wanted to be able to open up and delete obvious SPAM e-mails from my Indox without allowing the spam e-mail to activate the Javascript "external link" command which would inform the spammer that the e-mail had been opened. This switch allows me to easily disconnect from my cable broadband and hence prevent the Javascript command from executing. It works great!

4 computers networked over distances of up to 150 feet. Used existing phone lines. Easy setup, very fast, does not interfere with other phone uses. Drawback is no simple way (that I have found) to share a broadbandconnection. Linksys tech assistance quite limited. Internet sharingsoftware included with system outdated and not upgradable and not supportedby software publisher.
