First, let me correct a few inaccuracies in the other reviews.
Mr. Mehlman states that you can't repeat or skip messages in the answering system remotely.The manualclearly states that you can.He also claims that you can't play backmessages from the cordless handsets, but the manual also says that ispossible.
Mr. Szymonik and Mr. Doumet both claim that you can't transferphone directories between the base and handsets, but I have done justthat.
What don't I like?First, there are no voicemail boxes in theanswering system.Each line can answer separately, but you can't haveboxes for different people on the same phone line.
Second, while you cancontrol the ringing frequency and volume for calls placed to differentlines and the intercom, you can't change the ringing pattern.I would likeone long ring for Line #1, two short rings for Line #2, and three shorterrings for the Intercom, for example.
Third, the desk unit handset is sosleek and rounded that it's difficult to hold between your ear andshoulder.
Fourth, the phone's user interface isn't intuitive at times oreven consistent.For example, to add a new entry to the directory or sendthe directory, you hit the Dir button, then have to select a name, thenscroll through the action list to find the appropriate action.Selecting aname should not be required for global actions.
As another example, topage another intercom station from the handset, the menu shows theextension number and part of the name, but to send a directory to anotherstation, you must enter the number without seeing the names.
However,except for the lack of voicemail boxes, these are fairly minor issues, andshould not detract from the review.

This is an extremely well taken care of phone system in like-new condition; comes with one Siemens 2420 phone base and one 2410 cordless handset, with answering/mail boxes, corded handset, AC power adapter; the cordless handset comes also with it's own charging base,AC power adapter, rechargeable batteries. Excellent package for small office. We used it in our house and it works great.
