Polycom SoundStation2 Expandable Conference Phone (2200-16200-001) Review

Polycom SoundStation2 Expandable Conference Phone
Average Reviews:

I purchased this unit plus the additional microphones and it is a great unit with a good price. We haven't even used it but are returning it!None of the literature on this site or even on the Polycom site explains that it will ONLY work on a single phone line.We have analog lines so that was not an issue. However like any business, we have multiple lines. And, this unit cannot work on a multi-line system. It worked fine when I hooked to our fax line. But NO dial tone when hooked to any other phone jack in our building. It is a shame that the company does NOT provide this critical key piece of information.I think this is true of ALL of their products. For the cost of the equipment, this should be disclosed!!!

USB VOIP Phone Adapter, Support SIP, Skype Review

USB VOIP Phone Adapter, Support SIP, Skype
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Great device and idea
allows you to make Skype calls from your regular phone and accept Skype calls on regualr phone.
Installation went easy and simple.

The only "problem" is that because of USB cable it has to be placed near your PC so it's sometimes a problem to connect all house phones to it (because home phone line entry point located usually far from PC).
But if you managed to do so or use only cordless phone set with several handsets it's not a problem.
Otherwise only one phone set can be connected and even if it cordless it's a bit unconvinient.
Another thing that missing is ability to "flash" (call waiting) between normal and Skype calls.

Also, after installation the software sometimes redefines your default Windows sound device making you think that your sound gone - just go to "Control Panel"->"Sound and Audio Devices" and set your old soundcard back to be default one.

P.S.: personally I would prefer simular device but the one that have Skype client "built-in" connected by network to router not USB to PC (or even better by WiFi) so you would not need you PC be turned on all the time. But since my PC is on 24/7/365 it's not a problem for me.

*Edited*: Aperently 2 revisions of the device exists "the old one" where you use "*" to switch to Skype dialing ane "new one" where you use "**".
The problem with old revision is that you can't use regular "*" services (like *72 and such) on regular line becouse it switches to Skype.

Apple MA034Z/A External V.2 USB Modem Review

Apple MA034Z/A External V.2 USB Modem
Average Reviews:

This modem could not be easier to use. You plug it in, and it is ready to go. You need to add your phone number and ISP information, which is easy to do either in the Network Preferences (under System Preferences) or in the Internet Connect application. No other configuration is required.

I gave it 4 stars because something like this shouldn't cost ~$50. I can appreciate that Apple removed it as a built-in item on my MacBook because they are not used frequently (I got by for an entire year before I needed it), but $50 was a bit steep for a modem in 2007.

Average Reviews:

I was concerned that this model might be as bad as the 1240 model, but after about a week of use, the 1040 model is working good. No paper feeding problems when sending faxes.

The fax machine is sharing the same line as my regular phone with no problems, but you must physically locate your answering machine next to the fax so that you can plug it into your fax machine for this to work. Messages go to the answering machine, and faxes go to the fax machine just as they should.

Shure MPA-3C Music Phone Adapter for iPhone Review

Shure MPA-3C Music Phone Adapter for iPhone
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I recently got an Iphone and realized that my E3Cs didn't fit into the recessed jack of the iPhone.I was 100% happy that this adapter existed:

Pros:
a) it allowed me to use my great Shure E3Cs with the Iphone and,
b) it allowed me to take calls
c) it has a button which allows me to take calls in phone mode or pause the iPhone when in iPod mode.
d) when I'm in iPod mode and the phone rings the volume gently lowers and the phone rings -- I can click the button by the microphone to answer and when I'm done talking, I can press the button by the microphone again and I go back to my music - very convenient.
d) with both shure earplugs in you can take calls in extremely noisy environments and you will hear all of the conversation (your caller sounds like they're in a recording studio)Cons:
a) like others have noted, the cord becomes very long and complex to manage.Lets just say I resorted to rubber bands which is not very trendy.

b) if you take a call in extremely noisy environment and both earplugs are in, you'll hear everything but parties will keep asking you if you can hear them bc they'll hear the noise through the microphone (I tell them not to worry and that I can hear them great with my Shure earplugs).

Why the 5 stars?Because it works very well and solved the core of my problem of using my E3Cs with my iPhone. Thanks for having this Shure!

I couldn't find this at stores but one quick search at Amazon found it and I had it in my hands the next day. Thanks Amazon!

Cisco PAP2 Phone Adapter for Vonage Internet Phone Service Review

Cisco PAP2 Phone Adapter for Vonage Internet Phone Service
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am going to strictly comment on the Linksys PAP2. A lot of the reviews on here have been for the Vonage service. The Linksys PAP2 is NOT THE Vonage service, but one of many adapters you can use.

I am extreamly satisfied with my Linksys PAP2. It is small, light weight, and perfect for those who need to travel. The voice quality is excellent and people say I do not sound like I am talking over VOIP. There is no line noise, static, popping, etc.

I am giving this product 4 stars. Why? Because there is only ONE ethernet port. If you have a router, just connect the PAP2 to one of your available ethernet ports and you are good to go. If you do not have a router, consider getting another Vonage phone adapter with built in 4-port router. There are several.

Product Description:
With Vonage, you can make calls through the Internet, potentially save on long-distance charges, and access a rich assortment of call features. Plans start as low as $14.99 per month, and the Premium Unlimited plan offers unlimited calling to the U.S. and Canada for only $24.99 per month. And it's easy to use: For making and receiving calls,Vonage works just like a traditional phone service; no special access codes or account numbers are required.
Easy Hardware Setup

All Vonage plans let you enjoy the call features you've become accustomed to-call waiting, caller ID, voicemail, call forwarding, three-way calling, call return, repeat dialing, and reliable long distance-plus other features that may be new to you. For example, you can receive your voicemail as an email attachment, and you'll have a phone number that travels with you.Visit http://www.vonage.com/amazon to see which plan is best suited to your lifestyle and budget. The low monthly rates are quite reasonably priced,in our opinion, and with them you may save considerably compared to traditional phone service. International calls are available for additional low fees, with one economical exception: calls from the U.S.to Canada are treated like domestic long distance calls, rather than international. Vonage also supports short-form emergency 911 services, where available. (Dialing 911 requires activation and operates differently than traditional 911. See Vonage's website for details.)
This Vonage Internet Phone Service Starter Kit is quick and easy to install in your home or business. All you need is a high-speed Internet connection (cable or DSL modem) and a touchtone phone. Setup is simple: Just connect one end of the included Vonage-certified Linksys PAP2 phone adapter to your Ethernet router or gateway and the other end to your telephone. Then sign up for Vonage phone service. An extra port on the adapter allows you to attach an additional phone or fax machine. You'll have instant access to both phone lines, each with a separate number, and you can even assign them different area codes (subject to availability). You can still surf the web while talking on the phone or receiving faxes. The phone adapter includes a generous three-year warranty from the manufacturer.

Sharp UX-D1200 Broadband Fax Review

Sharp UX-D1200 Broadband Fax
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
From day one this machine would jamb during every other fax transmission. We experienced nothing but frustration with it until it finally ceased to even receive faxes. Evidently something happened internally and it began stripping the fax tone from the incoming fax call. Consequently, the phone would ring and ring without ever connecting to receive the fax. We sent it back as defective and purchased a Brother machine instead. I do not recommend this device.

With our convenient Fax Forward feature, you can preprogram all your faxes to be sent to your e-mail address while traveling. Panasonic Link-to-Cell Expandable Bluetooth-Enabled DECT 6.0 Phone System with 2 Handsets Review

Panasonic Link-to-Cell Expandable Bluetooth-Enabled DECT 6.0 Phone System with 2 Handsets
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Due to the mixed reviews, I purchased this from Best Buy so returning it would not be a hassle. After several months, I have never had a dropped call or disconnected handset, so I've kept it and ordered 4 additional handsets.

As far as I know, the only handsets that work are the ones that are exactly the same as it comes with -- the KX-TGA930T, and the splash/drop resistant KX-TGA935B. I got one of the 935's so my wife can take it outside/gardening/etc. It is noticeably bulkier and heavier and so I only ordered the one, and it lives on the kitchen counter when it isn't travelling outdoors.

With the base unit on the ground floor and not really near any windows, in fact it's right next to the fridge, I can go about 2 to 3 houses away before it cuts out. There is a jogging track across the next street over, so through two yards and a street, in the direction that the fridge doesn't block, and it does go further in that direction. Place the base station with windows and desired distant coverage in mind and you should be pleased with the results.

A big Pro for me is the batteries are rechargeable AAA's, 2 per handset. You'll never have to buy an expensive proprietary battery. And, when you do replace the AAA's it comes with, you can use your choice of higher mAh ones like Eneloop or Duracell. I like the shared phonebook, as opposed to having to program numbers on each handset. If you prefer the latter, then this system may not be for you. You can set Night Ring mode for different times on different handsets, but you can't name the handset. We just have to remember that the "Bedroom" phone is #1 and that's the one that doesn't ring after 10pm. It's a handy feature.

I have a Blackberry Storm and my wife has an LG Chocolate 2. As soon as I turn OFF my Jawbone Prime, the base can connect to it. After I drive away from the house, I can turn on the Jawbone and it can find the Storm. The Storm seems to only talk to one BT device at once. I don't know if any of the negative reviewers are contributing some difficulties to concurrent BT headset use. The BlueTooth range is MUCH farther with the base than my headset. I was shocked that it works just fine without any BT static when I take my phone clear upstairs into the bedroom where my charging cradle lets the Storm double as a bedside clock. I have been so used BT headset range being limited even to where I keep my phone on the same side of my body as the earpiece. Occasionally, perhaps once a month, the base doesn't connect back up to one of our cell phones after a call. After unplugging the base station power for a couple seconds it comes back up just fine. We have NOT had any dropped calls using cell or landline (well, technically it's VOIP but same thing to the base).

Being used to the ability to pass calls to and from the BT headset, I found that the Panasonic cannot do this exactly. Of course, I can "steal" a call-in-progress from the Panasonic to talk on the cell, but I can't send a call to the Panasonic the way I can by turning on my Jawbone and having the call-in-progress transfer to the headset from the cell. I tried everything, but the Panasonic only knows how to answer a ringing Cell call or dial out an outgoing Cell call. Fortunately, my wife's Chocolate is more user-friendly than the Storm, in that if she picks up the Chocolate and answers it, the Chocolate doesn't default to BT like the Storm does. If I have to answer my Storm, I have to hit Answer, then Menu, Activate Handset, while the caller is inevitably saying, "Hello? Hello???" Be aware of this, and be prepared to teach your wife/parents/whoever how to answer their own cell when it's paired to the Panasonic's BlueTooth, if needed.

The biggest con I have with this system is that it can ONLY do ONE thing at a time, with the exception of a two-handset phone call. ONE phone can be using the phonebook at a time. About all it does in tandem is that you can intercom two handsets at the same time as other handsets make a phone call (we use it as an ad-hoc baby monitor sometimes). You can talk on ONE line, either cell 1 or cell 2 or landline, but you can't use more than one line at once and certainly not conference them. However, the convenience of walking to any of the 6 handsets to answer a call rather than dash around the house trying to find where the cell phone got set down, or trip up or down the stairs because it's always sitting on the kitchen counter, far outweighs the occasional times we get two calls at once and someone has to use their cell phone. You can't look up phone book or caller-id logs while any other phone is doing so or is on a phone call.

I wish you could change the backlight time, cradle-backlight settings, and have a large screensaver "clock" option, but you can't.

Overall the system is a keeper for us. The only reason I might be disappointed is if the VTech LS6245 that finally seems to have come out recently, or another BlueTooth enabled system, turns out to be a killer system and overcome some of the limitations such as one line or intercom at once. My wife loves it and doesn't care that it only does one thing at once.

4 stars instead of 5 because I think that by supporting up to 6 handsets, it should allow at minimum one handset to be on one call while another handset is on another, and intercom from handset can only ring one other handset (by number since it doesn't "name" phones) -- if you want to "ring all" you have to go poke the "handset locator" button on the base.

Skylink SC-1000 Complete Wireless Alarm System Review

Skylink SC-1000 Complete Wireless Alarm System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a wonderful system that allow for peace of mind when leaving the premises.I bought the complete system with alarm and dialer. The systems come linked together, so if someone sets off the door/windows alarms or the motion detector, the dialer will begin calling the pre-programmed numbers with your custom pre-recorded message. So far it has worked very well.Thebuilt in alarm is unbearably loud, so be careful if you set it off by accident.Be sure you have the remote handy as you do NOT want to get near it to disarm it. It has the ability to trip the phone dialer based on the sensors by themselves, as a whole, or by the main security system. The dialer can be set so that you can hear the numbers being dialed, or you can opt to make it completely silent.I have mine silent as I don't want someone finding it and pulling the phone cord out.Besides, the alarm is enough to scare anyone off.The motion detector is very touchy however, and it will trip the system with slight movement. In my opinion that is a good thing. At night I set it so that only the doors and windows are alarmed, and the motion detector is off. This is a handy feature.I've purchased many security devices lately and this one is certainly the best.If you combine this with an in home motion detection webcam such as the Linksys WVC54GC you can not only be alerted via phone, but also get pictures sent to your cell phone, send streaming media to your cell phone, or simply hop onto the web and view your house in real time with no computer needed. This is my setup and it gives you an amazing piece of mind.Just be sure to mount everything out of sight!

Keep your home or business safe and secure with this reliable, cutting-edge wireless security system. The SC-1000 utilizes innovative technology with trouble-free wireless connections to provide security, making it a great choice for protecting against intruders and safeguarding in case of an accident, fire, flood, or other emergency.
Do-it-Yourself Security Eliminates the Need for Monitoring Fees
The SC-1000 is a do-it-yourself system, which means you can easily install it yourself and then use it without paying monitoring fees or registering with an alarm company. To arm or disarm, you simply enter your personal code or use the keychain transmitter.
Rolling-Code Technology for Maximum Security and Fewer False Alarms
The Skylink SC-1000 Complete Wireless Alarm System:

    Offers fast, easy installation
    Utilizes Advanced Rolling Code Technology
Automatically calls for help in the event of an emergency
Dials up to 9 different numbers of your choice and sends out your personal 40 second message
Can be customized using up to 30 Skylink accessories
Does not require expensive, monthly monitoring fees

Skylink is the first company to incorporate rolling-code technology into a home/business security system, which means that the SC-1000 provides maximum security while virtually eliminating the number of false alarms. A rolling code (or hopping code) is often used in entry systems that don't require a key, because it prevents an eavesdropper from capturing and using your personal security code. Thanks to rolling-code technology, the SC-1000's control panel will recognize radio waves only from its remote sensors (door/window sensor, motion sensor, and keychain transmitter), thereby preventing high-tech thieves from duplicating signals and tampering with your system.
Motion, Door, and Window Sensors for Reliable Emergency Protection
The SC-1000 comes complete with a motion sensor and two door/window sensors--enough coverage for small- to medium-sized homes. Because it works in conjunction with up to 30 Skylink security accessories, including Dial Alert, Alarm Detector Sensor, and Flood Sensor, this system can be customized to suit your needs and can be expanded to accommodate larger spaces or businesses that require a higher level of protection. If any sensors are triggered when the system is armed, the included 110dB siren will make a piercing sound, and the sensor will immediately send a wireless signal to the system's dialer.
Automatically Calls for Help in an Emergency
In case of an emergency, the SC-1000 follows a straightforward process to make sure you get the help you need. When you receive the system, you can program the emergency dialer to call up to nine different phone numbers, including your cellular phone, a pager, your doctor, relatives, friends, neighbors, etc., should something trigger one of the sensors. You'll also record a personal 40-second emergency message. In case of emergency, the system's dialer will automatically dial the number or numbers you have entered. Once the recipient picks up the phone, the emergency dialer will play your prerecorded message and inform the recipient that you are in an emergency situation and that help should be sent right away.
Lighted Keypad and Low-Battery Indicator for Easy Operation
Offering simple and straightforward operation, the SC-1000 features a lighted keypad that is easy to read in dark conditions and offers Chime, Instant, and Delay modes. Belkin PureAV Home Theater 9-Outlet Surge Protector Review

Belkin PureAV Home Theater 9-Outlet Surge Protector
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this quality product at an introductory price with a $60 discount. Can't get any lower than that.

I was only interested in the modem and TV protection because another older Belkin power protection power bar is protecting the phone line.

My only worry prior to purchasing was the quality of the video signal to the HDTV and DVD recorders. The signal was clean. So, no worries there.

The sliding safety covers, 8 feet cord and sleek shape are great design features.

TeleZapper TZ 900 Review

TeleZapper TZ 900
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I actually have the earlier model of the TeleZapper -- the one that's the size of a small answering machine. The product does exactly what it is designed to actually do, and it does so reliably. But the real question is does what the product actually do stand up to it's marketing as a way to stop telemarketers from calling you.
The answer is, to some degree, sort-of.
The way it works is this: The telemarketer calls you. You (or your answering machine) answers the call, and the TeleZapper beeps. If the telemarketer is using the right equipment to recognize that tone as being a non-working number, the telemarketer will automatically disconnect from the call, and theoretically delete your phone number from the list it is using.
So let's look at this closer. Your phone still rings. If you (or your answering machine) does not answer the ringing phone, the beep-tone is never heard by the telemarketer's equipment. The result of not answering the phone is the same with or without the TeleZapper.
Okay, so we have to answer the phone once. But after that one time aren't we deleted from the lists they all use? Well, no. There are lots of lists out there. Some are used only once. Doesn't do much good to be removed from a list that will never be used again. But in all fairness, you will be removed from a few lists that might have gotten used again.
My personal experience was that initially there was no change in the number of calls. It took some time before any of those beeps my TeleZapper made had any effect on whether or not I was going to get called again. During this first period, I still got to talk to a lot of telemarketers because they weren't using equipment that the TeleZapper had any effect upon.
After about three or four months, I realized that there were far fewer times that I answered the phone, and no one was there. That could mean one of two things: Either the TeleZapper was working, and I was really was being taken off the lists, or telemarketers stopped using the kind of equipment that's stopped by the TeleZapper.
It's been over a year now, and it's just been in the last two weeks that things changed again. I'm now suddenly again getting lots of calls with no one there. My speculation is that the TeleZapper worked, and I was taken off of quite a few lists, but now there are new lists out there that include my name.
You can't really control who calls you on the phone any more than you can control which people you pass on the street will say something to you. But just as there are things that you can do to discourage people you pass from saying something to you, there are things you can do to discourage telemarketers from calling you. The TeleZapper can be a part of your arsenal, but don't expect it to be the best tool you can use. And since the TeleZapper doesn't start to do anything unless you (or your answering machine) picks up the phone, don't expect this tool to take the lead, either.
So the TeleZapper functions. It does have some effect. Is it worth the price? Well, I don't have any regrets about spending the money, but I wouldn't do it again. If your state has a no-call list, the fee to be included on that list is probably going to get you a better bang for your buck.
On the other hand, if you're not as assertive as I can be with Telemarketers, the TeleZapper saves you from having to speak directly to sone telemarketers, so the price may be worth it to you.

Product Description:
When you've had your dinner interrupted by a telemarketer one too many times, treat your phone line and yourself to the Telezapper TZ 900. It's a simple, one-time-cost solution to the problem of annoying telemarketing calls. Based on the enormously popular classic Telezapper, the newer Telezapper TZ 900 offers the advantages of a slimmer profile, built-in battery power, and an advanced three-tone mode.
Here's how it works: Given that more than 90 percent of telemarketing calls are placed with computer assistance, when either you or your answering machine answers the phone, the Telezapper emits a special tone that tells the computer your number has been permanently disconnected. Telemarketing companies that use automated dialing systems typically remove disconnected numbers from their calling lists, and as your phone number is eliminated from more and more telemarketing lists, you'll notice fewer calls. Of course, not all telemarketers use predictive dialing systems, and those that do will undoubtedly continue their work to evade the Telezapper, but it can be a partial solution.
Most predictive dialing systems will be fooled by the Telezapper's standard single tone. However, for newer dialing systems (presumably designed in response to the success of the previous Telezapper model), the TZ 900 offers an advance three-tone mode. To change the mode, unscrew and remove the protective case and then slide a recessed switch. (We suggest that Privacy Technologies put the switch on the outside for their next model.)
For the most part, regular callers are unaffected by the Telezapper, but it may "zap" calls from other organizations that use the same predictive dialing technology (such as charities, pollsters, and automated emergency weather systems) and from callers who use certain types of calling cards. (For more information, click FAQ, or frequently asked questions, in the left navigation bar.)
Installation takes seconds. Just plug the Telezapper into your phone line and your phone into the Telezapper. It's that simple. A built-in lithium-ion battery provides power and will likely last for the lifetime of the unit. The Telezapper includes a phone cord and instructions. Privacy Technologies backs the device with a one-year warranty. --Mike Brown

Doesn't interfere with most normal calls

Annoying beep every time the receiver is lifted

Panasonic KX-TG5433M 5.8 GHz DSS Cordless Phone with Answering System and Three Handsets Review

Panasonic KX-TG5433M 5.8 GHz DSS Cordless Phone with Answering System and Three Handsets
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is the third time I have bought a phone system with one base and multiple handsets, and this is the best one I have used so far.The reasons range from trivial (I like the sounds of the ring tones), to significant (you can use multiple handsets at once).

The two most important features for me before purchase were:

1) 5.8 Ghz spread spectrum. My old phone was a 2.4 Ghz, and it would occasionally interfere with my wireless computer network. It was very annoying. My moving to a phone that uses a different frequency range, the problem is completely avoided.

2) The ability to use multiple handsets at the same time.Another phone I previously had would not let two handsets talk in the same conversation at the same time. This was just miserable. This phone lets you do this without any problems.

After purchase, I found that it had some other amazing features:

1) Each phone has a unique ID, and you can conference between the handsets. With the range this phone has, my wife and I now carry them around outside (we have a 3 acre yard) and use them to talk to each other.

2) The phone has an AMAZING speakerphone capability on each handset! This was not on my radar at all, but it is really useful.

3) When playing back messages it has recorded, it shows you the caller ID entry for the message.Really nice touch.

4) While I don't know much about it yet, I can apparently keep the numbers in the phone's phonebook in sync with those stored in Outlook in my computer.I can also download new ringtones, but that's not so importent to me.More info on this is available at www.openlcr.com.

The ONLY annoying thing about this phone is that when you answer a call on one handset, the other two handsets register it as a 'missed call' in the caller ID list.I considered rating it 4 stars for this, but once you get used to it, the rest of the features more than make up for it.

Uniden DECT 1060 DECT6.0 Expandable Cordless Phone System with Call Waiting/Caller ID Review

Uniden DECT 1060 DECT6.0 Expandable Cordless Phone System with Call Waiting/Caller ID
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Uniden has fixed some chronic flaws found in its previous phones, and left a few small flaws in.

THE GOOD:
*NO WIFI INTERFERENCE. This phone works well without interfering with today's (or tomorrow's) WiFi Networks
*SOUND QUALITY IS VERY GOOD, both receiving and transmitting. Uniden's microphones have been consistently horrible in the past, and I am delighted to see that they have fixed this.
*FORM FACTOR IS NICE. Not overly sleek and trendy, but not clunky at all.The most commonly used features are quick to access with only one or two button presses, with a few exceptions (see THE UGLY, below).
*GOOD RANGE. The lower frequency band of 1.9 GHz allows for a slightly greater range than the overhyped 5.8 GHz band.Works a little better through plaster walls.
*NAME YOUR HANDSET. Each handset is nameable. This greatly simplifies paging and conference calling.(Despite previous statements, multi-handset calls ARE possible, but they must be initiated by the handset making the call - you can't just pick up the extension.)

THE BAD:
*NO HEADSET JACK OR BLUETOOTH.Cordless phones should have some kind of handsfree option besides a speakerphone setting, but this one doesn't.I have a dedicated cordless headset, so this was not an essential feature for me.The handset's speakerphone works okay.
*CALLER ID DOESN'T DISPLAY THE PHONEBOOK NAME.This is pretty basic these days, but Uniden still hasn't caught up.When people listed in my Phonebook call me from a cell phone, I want their NAME to display, not just WIRELESS CALLER.This is not a deal breaker, but certainly an annoying oversight.

THE UGLY:
*THE ALERT THAT WOULDN'T DIE. Despite being able to turn all the sound alerts off, the phone still makes a loud and irritating BLURRRP! when you drop it into the charging cradle.Better not drop it in the bedroom cradle to charge while your spouse is sleeping.
*HOW DO I ...?To keep the phone sleek, some functions are a little more hidden than they should be.You will have to consult the manual to learn how to insert a pause into a Phonebook number, muting requires three button presses (You CAN mute the handsets, despite comments made elsewhere), and some phone settings are only available in certain modes, not universally available through the Menu button.Examples: Sound Enhancer is only accessible WHILE you are making a call, and Phonebook settings can only be made WHILE you are in the phonebook. There is a reason why a previous reviewer thought you couldn't have multi-handset conversations or couldn't mute the phone; you really have to read the manual. There are only a few of these hidden technical features though, and dang, the phone does look good.

I bought the version of this phone that includes an extra handset and charger.
