(More customer reviews)All features worked well, but I found it noisier than my 900MHz phone (a common complaint for 2.4GHz phones).The phone/hangup switch is kind of easy to press on your face when talking, and it only accepts 10-digit numbers in the phone book (might be a problem with your carrier, might not).Also, can't adjust ring volume for base- its either loud or off.Again, might not be a problem if your normally keep a handset in the area of the base.Good recording/playback quality.

The Olympia OL 2490 cordless phone offers the security of 2.4 GHz DSS technology, an integrated digital answering system, plus options for future system expansion. Able to accommodate a total of four cordless handsets, the OL 2490 comes bundled with two to get you started. Each handset offers convenient caller ID capability with 20 name-and-number memory, and a three-line backlit LCD in your choice of English, Spanish, or French that displays all call information.
The built-in digital answering system offers three individual mailboxes, perfect for small businesses or busy households. Separate mailboxes give users an added degree of privacy and the security of knowing that their messages won't be accidentally erased by another user. The system can save up to 50 messages, with 15 minutes of recording time (total).
One of the benefits of todays expandable 2.4 GHz systems is that individual handset extensions do not require a phone jack. Just plug the accompanying AC adapters into a standard power outlet and, in the case of the OL 2490 system, the handset units will initialize themselves to the systems base within 30 seconds, without the need for a wired connection or complicated programming. Once fully connected and initialized, the OL 2490 also allows handsets to operate as an intercom, with up to two two-way intercom connections happening simultaneously.
Additional call features include three-way conferencing, programmable ring tones, last five number redial, headset and hearing aid compatibility, and more. The OL2490 comes with everything you'll need to get started, including switchable face-plates for the handsets.

(More customer reviews)I charged the phone for about 2 days, and you couldn't get a dial tone on the phone but the call ID worked.Once you picked up the phone and pressed talk the dail tone was on for one second and it lost the connection.

(More customer reviews)First off, I think some people are confused about the usage of this product, which may explain some of the negative reviews.This product does not magically turn one Ethernet port into two, this isn't possible without a hub or switch.What this product does do is allow you to run two Ethernet ports over a single Cat5/Cat6 wire by utilizing the normally unused pairs for the second link.In order to do this, though, you either need two of these units or you need to do some custom wiring elsewhere.

I've used several of these in wiring my house where I didn't want to have to add a second run of Cat6.I've used them for both running two Ethernet links over a single run as well as for running both telephone and Ethernet over the same Cat6 run.They work just as I expected without any discernible loss in signal etc.

As another reviewer said, this item is a great way to get more mileage of existing wiring while providing a clean install that doesn't require a bunch of special wiring.All-in-all a simple, yet excellent, product.

(More customer reviews)This was the only DECT 2-line phone I could find for our small business.The sound is MUCH better than my old 5.8GHz 2-line phone.The console has a handy, sturdy plastic stand that keeps the base at an angle that makes it easy to read the console for speed dial numbers, speakerphone, etc.

My main disappointment is that although you can turn the answering machine function off so you can use voicemail supplied by your phone company, the console has no light that indicates when you have waiting messages if you are using external voicemail.You'll need to listen to the receiver (or speakerphone on the console) every now and then for the voicemail stutter alert to check on waiting messages.If a voicemail indicator light for an external voicemail service had been included, I would have ranked the phone 5 instead of 4 stars.

The phone has many features including an intercom, paging, the ability to associate different rings with different numbers in your handset directory (which stores more speed dial numbers than the console), and a privacy/do not disturb button.

Panasonic KX-TG1000N 2.4GHz Multi-Handset Cordless Phone - Champagne Review

(More customer reviews)After years of frustration with what were touted to be the best models along the evolutionary path of cordless telephones, I finally feel vindicated by having found the KX-TG1000N system. This phone system has all of the features that I have always desired and it has demonstrated superior quality in all areas. Although the phone handset is smaller than average, it is comfortable both in the hand and between the shoulder and ear. Its smaller size makes it lighter and therefore less cumbersome. The audio quality on receiving and transmitting is excellent, with uniformly good feedback from people with whom I regularly converse. There has also been no interference at all (even with the base station lodged between my desktop computer and speakers), and the range has been great. Perhaps this reflects the highly desirable frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) technology this system employs. The speakerphone is also very good, with clear reception and transmission. Note that a speakerphone is present not only on the base station, but also in the handset(s). Although the handset speakerphone is also good, it will greatly reduce battery life. The battery is not the usual NiCd battery; it is a NiMH battery, offering much longer life between charges. There is also a compartment on the side of the base unit which houses (and keeps charged) a spare battery (optional), which can power the base in the event of a blackout, or which can be used to swap with a handset battery low on power. I enjoy the ability to add up to a total of 4 handsets with this system (one comes with the base; the others are optional). The handsets are digitally registered to the base, preventing surreptitious use of the system by unauthorized outsiders. The system has the ability to announce and transfer calls from base to handset, handset to base, and handset to handset. An integrated intercom system is an added bonus. Additionally, multiple users can talk to a party (conference style) simultaneously. Of course, all of the standard features you would expect on a phone in this price range are present, including one-touch dialing, stored phone numbers, voice mail indicator, caller id/call waiting id, multiple volume controls, range extender, programmable ringer melodies. Overall, this is a great phone system, which I wish would have been developed years ago.
