(More customer reviews)I bought this for my home office - we have 2 home lines, a fax/dsl and a business line.This phone pretty much does it all - you can answer each line with a different outgoing message, set up mail boxes for different people, and even have different lines ring on different handsets, or not ring at all (i.e. the fax).The range is very good (I can usually get it to go about 400 feet outdoors in a suburban neighborhood).The handsets are pretty much the same size as the Panasonic 2.4mHz standard.Battery life seems fine.
My biggest peeve is that you can't use 2 handsets on the same line at the same time (I guess that is what the extension is for) and that one of the four handsets we got refuses to work properly - something with the battery, but Panasonic has been pretty helpful.

(More customer reviews)You need to know what you're doing to really get the most out of this device, but really, this device works fine. I own several of them and use them for my business and home.

To get it to work, you need to sign up for a SIP account with a VOIP provider, like Voip.ms, Voicepulse, Vitelity, or Callcentric.

I suggest updating the firmware as soon as you receive it, as there are frequent useful firmware updates.To respond to some of the one star reviews:

Of course the device doesn't work with Vonage, it's not supposed to! Vonage doesn't use SIP!

Of course the device died when you plugged the wrong power adapter into it - it fried the circuit board. You could make that same comment about hundreds of devices.

UPDATE: While I still think this device is good, I now recommend purchasing a Linksys SPA-2102 instead, due to a new firmware update from Linksys. It's worth the extra $[...] or $[...] bucks for the ability to tweak DTMF detection.

GE 29460GE2 2-Line Business Speakerphone with Caller ID Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this phone a few days ago. I was VERY impressed with the intelligent layout of its features. Total learning time was less than 20 minutes. Someone put a lot of thought into making it easy to use. Of the many excellent features this phone offers, I did find several disappointed me (but not enough to return it!). These are:
1) On the first and only 2-line conference call I initiated, niether party could hear the other. Conferencing with 'home' quality phones always provides low level sound for the other parties. But this phone produced no sound for these particular parties.
2) The speaker phone's output volume is quite low, even on its maximum setting. With my computer's fans, it's only minimally acceptable. The receiving party said my voice quality wasn't bad, but similar to any other speaker phone, quite echo-e.
3) The headset feature is great, but, get this, the handset is dead while the headset jack is plugged-in. You must remove it to return use of the handset. You can switch to the speaker phone though while removing the jack, but, sheesh.
4) The Flash feature switches to the call waiting line just fine. But, I couldn't find a way to conference the call waiting person with the other party on the same line, as I could with my Sony phone. I kinda miss that ability, though maybe I haven't discovered how to do it yet (no mention of it in the manual).
Overall though, this is a premium phone with wonderful clarity and a solid sounding handset microphone (not 'tinny' like some phones). I really investigated alternative phones and this was in a class for twice its ... cost. Even with these particular disappointments, I'm impressed with the phone.

AT&T 964 Corded Expandable 4-Line Intercom Speakerphone with Digital Answering System (Graphite) Review

(More customer reviews)We bought 3 of these phones and tried out 3 more... they came from 3 separate locations. All 6 had the same problems!!
Minor problem: Intercom never worked.
Minor problem: Set-up is difficult to scroll through. You have to go through many options to find the one you want, because of poor organization & layout.
MAJOR problem: This is why we returned the phones. When you receive an incoming call on any line, if either Auto Attend or DTAD picks up to either transfer call or take a message, whatever happens from hereon out, when the caller hangs up, the 964 phone will continue to HOLD THE LINE for approx. 3 minutes while the phone company comes on with their automated message of "If you'd like to make a call please hang up and dial again." followed by a loud off-the-hook beep-beep-beeping. Finally, the line will be released. This also happens if you're talking on one line and someone calls trying to leave a message on another line. You can hear the other phone being "off the hook" so to speak and it is irritating beyond description. This has been thoroughly researched and tested on our end and it ahs nothing to do with our line, the region we're in, or other phones on the system. We eliminated everything and the problem persisted! We went through dozens of calls to Lucient to get help and Customer Service was unknowledgable and unwilling to give more than surface assistance. Research Team was very thorough and tried a lot, but they were unsuccessful at solving the problem. To complicate the problem a little further, after a couple of weeks with that problem, the line-holding suddenly became sporadic. That couldn't be eliminated to why it did/didn't work... The best answer we got was that, "These are very new phones and we don't have everything smoothed out yet."
My advise from much painful experience is to NOT BUY these phones, unless you relish the development of your patience through coping with numerous problems on your own.

The 4-line model ET-4300 is very well made except for the handset. After two initial blunt force traumas by employees, the handset didn't survive, prompting me to find a replacement handset. TMC's Customer Support line leaves much to be desired. Call them and they'll call you back, maybe. The two stars are for fragile components in the handset, and very slow customer support response.

RCA - 4 line Speakerphone with Call Waiting Caller ID Review

(More customer reviews)I have two of model 25404RE3. Needed a 3rd for home office use. Ordered this 'new' model by mistake. The two 25404RE3 phones work fine, but the new 25414RE3 doesn't. First, the phone recognizes only line one when a two line cord is plugged into the first jack. To get it to work for my two lines, I have to plug it into the second jack and use line 3 and 4. Second, it doesn't intercom at all with the 254o4RE3 models. This needs to go back!

Also, FWIW I like the aesthtics of the older model better; sleeker looking buttons and less use of dark colors.

(More customer reviews)Got this phone for my home office.Speakerphone was important to meand ths quality of it on this model is excellent.I like everything about this phone. You will benefit most from this phone if you hook up additional extensions throughout your home or business.

My only cons are:

1 - No backlit display on LCD

2- Only has 3 programmable speed dial numbers.

3- The LINE IN USE indicator only works if another phone of this same model is in use.So if my wife is on the one line with her NON Panasonic KXTS3282 phone, I don't know the phone is in use and will pick it up on accident while she is talking.

4 - Would be nice if the LCD display tilted.Hard to see when it laying flat on your desk. I ended up building a small angled wood stand to prop it up at a 45 degree angle so I could see everything

(More customer reviews)We have five of these phones in our office and all work very well. We switched back to copper lines after a disasterous venture into VOIP phones. We ordered the Panasonic phones as replacements.

They do have a slight lag time between picking up the handset and dialing the numbers as the reviewer below points out - but it's a making a mountain out of a molehill.

We even have an on hold music/message system connected to our Panasonic phones which works very well. I would have preferred to just plug in a radio or CD player but for the price of the phones I cannot really complain too much.

The phones are not absolutely perfect but they are very easy to use and suit our small office perfectly.
