(More customer reviews)If you're in the market for a fax machine this is the one.I also owned the Brother 2800.This is the new and revised version of the 2800.Apparently Brother does improve upon their faults.You can see my review on the 2800 and the downfalls.For a re-cap:

1. 2800 had paper jams when using old paper.The 2820 has a paper feeder like their printers which greatly reduces jams.(I also own brothers laser printer) Now I can use recycled (one-side already printed) paper and not have to deal with jams.Also 2820 holds much more paper in its tray, so you wont have to worry about running out.

2. 2820 has a new feed system which reduces jams when faxing out.I had problems faxing 20+ pages with the 2800, now none with 2820.However they say there is a limit to 20 pages (just add more pages as they feed through).

3. The only downfall is the toner is slightly more expensive.It does print more pages, but does cost a bit more.Fax machine is more expensive also.

Overall, if you don't want to deal with the 2800 problems then pay the extra money for the 2820 and feel confident with its performance.If money is an issue, get the 2800.Personally the few extra bucks is worth it over aggravation when trying to fax/receive.

Another added bonus feature:This fax can also connect to the computer through USB allowing to work as a printer.I currently have this set-up and works very well.Have no issues priting with this fax machine.Great feature if you don't want to buy a printer.(2800 does not have this feature)

THE TWO LINES CAN BE USED AT THE SAME TIME BY DIFFERENT HANDSETS or multiple people can be on the same line !!!.TRUE 5.8ghz used for both transmit and receive (unlike others) so it won't interfere with 2.4ghz wireless lans.Handsets can be used offsite without the base to talk from handset to handset or as a room monitor, speakerphone in handsets.All sorts of great features check out the manual link for the detals.

Handsome professional looking unit, handsets have solid feel and use Nickel Metal Hydride batteries.Corded phone audio quality. Keep in mind that almost none of the phones in the consumer marketplace have great range but this unit works well around the house, front porch and most of your backyard (if its not to big), the fewer walls and obstructions the better. Better range is afforded by commercial units with external antennas and lower frequencies but these units are either way to expensive or do not afford the feature set that this unit offers.

HEADSET: I've tested many with this unit.The best I found is the Panasonic KX-TCA86 which is only about $14.I tried two Plantronics and Uniden's own neither of which had adequate microphone volume.

(More customer reviews)I've been looking for a multi-line corded phone for months, and thought I'd found what I wanted in the AT&T 992, which recently became available.It had all the features I was looking for, but the phone did not work reliably.I bought and returned three of them, all with a different problem.

I then decided to try this phone, the 974, even though it's a 4-line phone and I only need two lines.It has worked perfectly, and the overall quality is much better than the 992.I especially notice a difference in the sound quality.Unlike the 992, the line indicator buttons on this phone only illuminate when a line is in use, so it's much easier to see the activity on the lines.A big advantage of this phone over many others is that all the lines work in the event of a power outage.

I haven't used the conference feature yet, but all the other features--speakerphone, headset, caller ID, message waiting indicator, etc.--work as they should.

GE 2-Line Speakerphone with Caller ID Review

(More customer reviews)I've had several different office phones over the past few years.Most recently, I purchased a Fanstel phone, after reading reviews and doing some research online.Unfortunately, this phone was more of a disappointment in that the speakerphone feature was horrible.Most calls could not be heard since every other word was dropped.So, I decided to research again and came across this RCA 2-line model.I've been using it for a few weeks and have been quite happy.I have one line, and therefore have not bothered with the 2nd line setting.It was easy to set up and use right from the start.Caller ID is large and backlit.Sound is very good through the handset and speakerphone.The speakerphone is loud and much, much better than the Fanstel.In fact, I can actually have a 2 way conversation with the RCA speakerphone.Saving names and numbers to the directory or quick access buttons is straightforward.I've attached a headset using the 2.5mm jack; an external amplifier is not necessary since the phone has one built in.Just attach your favorite headset, and start to use it.The volume setting for the headset is separate from the speakerphone, and this is recalled the next time you use that method to talk.Lastly, by simply pushing the down volume button, you quickly shut off the ringer for times when you don't want to be interrupted.Overall, I'm happy with this purchase and recommend this phone for home or small office use.

(More customer reviews)When in my home office, I am on the phone 5-7 hours a day.I have tried many combinations of phones and headsets and have never been satisfied with the voice quality.I also run a wireless network and have had problems in the past with 2.4 Ghz phones causing interference.The Plantronics CT12 is the answer to all my problems:
* portable - small belt unit is light, offers great battery life and includes all the features I need
* great headset - sound quality is equal to that of a handset (people do not know you are on a headset); comfortable with two fit options, Firefly function is nice bonus
* Caller-ID - included on belt unit, works as expected
* 2.4 Ghz - range is good, does not cause interference with my wireless network (previous phones from Panasonic and others have)
Only negative is that you cannot answer or otherwise use the phone while it is charging (must remove the belt unit from the charger).All in all, highly recommended.
