AT&T EP5962 5.8 GHz 2-Line Corded/Cordless Phone with Answering System Review

AT&T EP5962 5.8 GHz 2-Line Corded/Cordless Phone with Answering System
Average Reviews:

The designers of this phone obviously weren't thinking of how a 2-line phone system actually gets used.

Cons:
* Corded base unit always picks up line 1, no matter if someone else is already using it.Even if line 2 is ringing, it STILL picks up line 1.Useless.

* Cordless handsets do not pick up the ringing line when lifted off the charger base.I have yet to own a cordless phone (single line or multi-line) that can't handle this small task.At least the cordless units hang up the line when putting them back in the charger base.

* Call volume is neither "sticky" nor stable on the cordless handsets. The volume you set will eventually revert to the previous volume setting, or else change to a different setting altogether.

* No customer service.Calling the customer support phone number included in BIG NUMBERS on a separate yellow sheet so you are sure to see it gets you . . . nowhere. The automated support system doesn't even recognize the model number number of the phone, and you can't talk to a live person.

Pros:
* Never got that far. After discovering the call volume problem, I packed these useless things up and took them back.

The phone is good for my purposes in all aspects except one - and if I'd known I would not have bought this model. The phone does not give caller ID while on call waiting.I had other issues with my old phones, but this was not one.

Vtech DS6321-3 DECT 6.0 Digital Expandable Three Handset Cordless Phone System (DS6321-3) Review

We had bought this phone from Amazon, along with many others on the way. To compare, we tried: AT&T's TL9237 ~ $120, Uniden's ELBT595 ~ $70, and Motorola B802 ~$95.

This phone far exceeds those with more bang for your buck. It can connect up to 3 different bluetooth devices, but only 2 at a time can be active. It does a great job of downloading your phonebook from your cell, and can have your directory available on all handsets. When accessing the phonebook, you can choose which cell's directory to use, and can rename the cell phones that connect (i.e. Bob's Phone). I've had the phone for about 2 weeks, and have yet to have a dropped call, and bluetooth connection is outstanding. Very clear.

I have a Blackberry Pearl, and my wife has the Iphone. Both initially connected seamlessly and automatically connects to the phones upon entering the house. Two of the three other bluetooth cordless phones we tried had the issue: if you are on the cell phone when walking into the house it'll drop the call to connect to the base. Upon testing it with this product, there was a short moment of silence, but the call maintained connection with no problem.Excellent!

Each active device on the phones can have their own ringtone. This is very neat. One downfall of the phone is you have to set the ringer and ringer volume attributed to a connected device ON EACH HANDSET, and you can't change the ringer on the base (simple enough, turn the base ringer off).Although it was only 3 phones we had to do this to, it took less than 5 minutes and it was set and done, so not a huge deal.

Why it works for my uses... I simply wanted a bluetooth cordless phone that works. I don't need memo's (who uses those anyway?), fancy ringtones, headset jacks (this doesn't have them), or anything else.If you are simply looking to extend the talking capabilities of your cell phone to the rest of the house, then this phone is it.I can't comment on the answering machine because I don't use it.The max talking distance between handset and base is decent (when I tested it, it went through 3 walls, exterior wall, and traversed the length of my yard before a hint of static). The phone is very simple to use, and buttons are large (probably because there isn't any fancy shmancy crap on it).The handsets are lightweight, and pretty good quality (they look like they could survive a few drops). Batteries initially take about 16 hrs to charge, but man they can hold that charge. Great battery life. The speakerphone is pretty good too.

All in all, if you are simply looking for a phone to do a phones job for a lot less money, this is an excellent choice.Sorry for the essay... and major use of ().

Cisco SPA941 4-line IP Phone with 1-port Ethernet Review

Cisco SPA941 4-line IP Phone with 1-port Ethernet
Average Reviews:

I put together two Asterisk servers for two businesses, and bought several of the SPA941 phones.I looked at Grandstream products, and read reviews, and bought one, but they are basically cheap crud in comparison. This SPA941 series is a solid business phone that works well... the cheaper competitors feel like cheap plastic (they are), and have all kinds of operational issues working with Asterisk.I'm basically a fan of this product.

On the down side, I have had trouble getting and installing the 2-to-4 line upgrade.Be aware that this is only a 2-line phone, even though it has 4-line buttons.

4 Line Corded/Cordless Small Business System with Extended Range Review

4 Line Corded/Cordless Small Business System with Extended Range
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We have had this phone system for almost 2 months, and we are very impressed. It is a big improvement over our similar Panasonic 4-line system, which we were happy to get rid of when we recently moved offices (poor sound quality, the '1' buttons went dead on several of the handsets, and the battery life was not good). This phone has extra bells and whistles that our Panasonic did not.One of the greatest features I like is that the handsets have speakerphone capability (not just the base station), it can record phone calls (the other person will hear a beep), and another employee can join in on a phone call in progress just by holding down the specific line key from their handset (or base) (and a person can put the call into privacy to disallow this feature, per call), and lots more neat features, such as Push to Talk and Intercom.

The base unit and handsets are also better looking than our Panasonic system, and the back-lighting is much, much better.Oh, and a REALLY GREAT feature that we now have is MUSIC ON HOLD!!!!We are not on a PBX system (so we save lots of money!), so with our old Panasonic system, if we put somebody on hold, it was just silence for them, so I always had to tell them that they will "hear silence" (oxy-moron!).If I didn't, many callers would think that they got disconnected. With this AT&T system, callers automatically have music on hold -and better yet, we have the ability to put whatever 3-minute sound-byte we want on there (music or a personal message from the company president, etc.) and change it as often as we want, as the phone will connect to your computer or cd player or radio (anything with a 3.5mm audio jack), or use a headset to talk right into the machine to record the 3-minute loop.

I really like the speaker function on the handsets.I don't like to wear headsets, so if I am on hold on a call, I like to press "speaker" and then set the phone down so I have my hands free so I can better multi-task.When the caller comes on, then I just hit the speaker button again to take it off speakerphone. I have found, as is common with speakerphones, that they are not great to use if you have background noise, but it is handy for allowing others around you to hear your call, or like I mentioned, to set it down while on hold.

Setup was a BREEZE!I got the base station and the 4 handsets all set up and registered in about 10 minutes. This included personalization of adding a name to each phone on the screen for ID, setting a special ring tone for our line 2 calls, and other options.

The reception RANGE is OUTSTANDING!We could only go about 35 feet with our Panasonic system, but this one goes the distance!I just took it for a walk and walked out of our building, through the long parking lot and across the street, without even a crackle!Superior! And that is without the DECT extender, which I am told would allow us to go another 300 feet (which we would never need, but still impressive!).I was confused about whether to buy the DECT accessory unit on Amazon becuase I was not sure if we needed the DECT unit with the phone system, so I called AT&T, and they explained that it doubles your range.I figured I would first test the range after getting the phone system to see if we needed it, and as I mentioned, found that we don't need it.

I cannot provide a review of the built in voicemail feature, because we do not use it.We use our phone company's voicemail so that we can get voicemails via our email or retrieve our voicemails online. I also do not use the Auto Attendant, as we like to answer our calls personally, but it does seem like a handy feature.

Overall, I am very impressed with this sturdy unit, and feel I made the best choice for our new phone system.Amazon had the best price, and with free shipping, and we received it quickly.I was at first hesitant to buy it because the few prior reviews were not as favorable as I had hoped, but one review had to do with setup issues, which I don't think was an issue with the phone, but how their phone lines were set up.I had no issues at all (but we did have a local phone installer come pair the lines for us (line 1/2 and 3/4, as would be necessary anyway.

Panasonic KX-TS3282B 2-Line Expandable Speakerphone with Data Port (Black) Review

Panasonic KX-TS3282B 2-Line Expandable Speakerphone with Data Port
Average Reviews:

Got this phone for my home office.Speakerphone was important to meand ths quality of it on this model is excellent.I like everything about this phone. You will benefit most from this phone if you hook up additional extensions throughout your home or business.

My only cons are:

1 - No backlit display on LCD

2- Only has 3 programmable speed dial numbers.

3- The LINE IN USE indicator only works if another phone of this same model is in use.So if my wife is on the one line with her NON Panasonic KXTS3282 phone, I don't know the phone is in use and will pick it up on accident while she is talking.

4 - Would be nice if the LCD display tilted.Hard to see when it laying flat on your desk. I ended up building a small angled wood stand to prop it up at a 45 degree angle so I could see everything

I have been using my new VTECH phones for about a month now--I wanted to wait at least this long before submitting a review so I could give the product a workout and submit a fair review.

The phones are light weight but well built; the buttons have a great feel and the display is easy to read.I spent about 10 minutes reviewing the nicely organized and easy-to-understand instruction manual before I was well on my way to programming numbers and setting other features. The sound quality has been consistently good and once you've reviewed the manual you'll find the buttons and features to be quite intuitive.

From a practical standpoint, I was looking for a two-station cordless phone that does not have a built-in answering machine as I have voicemail with my phone service. So this phone fit the bill.

There are a couple of features I miss from my old phones I replaced--a belt clip (for trips to the garage when I don't want to miss a call) and a headphone jack. However, given the excellent price point of this product, I have no room to complain (For long conference calls I have been using the speakerphone feature, which also works well).I read some reviews where people complained that this phone does not have distinctive ring tones. If this is a feature you absolutely can't live without, look for a different product--remember, the price is great for what you get.

In case you're wondering, I have had zero interference with my home wireless network, which would have prompted me to immediately return this product.

The bottom line: If you're looking for a good-quality phone at a very attractive price, this is the one.
